Basically, played soccer with friends, not competitive ones. Not very good at soccer thou. But being a ex-PE teacher, I have had to teach soccer during my lesson. Thank goodness, I did a module of soccer in NIE & that has equipped me with some basic skills & activity that I could have for my PE lessons. Used to play street soccer with my students & once in a while on the field. Miss those days........!!!
My recent business trip, I was looking at a series of sports equipment which I intend to bring back to Singapore. I came to understand that there are 2 methods in making a ball.
1. Machine made
2. Hand-made
Which method is better then? After doing some research & getting some expert advice, I came to realised that whichever method that is used, it depends on the QC & material, thread used as well as the worker. However, I must say, hand-made ones are better. But these days, its hard to find hand-made soccer balls around.
What to take note when buying soccer ball
1. Your budget
2. For indoor or outdoor usage.
3. The quality of the stiches (the sewing)
4. The material used to make the soccer ball
5. Size of ball. There a few sizes for you to pick. Size 5 is the official size for competitions
These days, alot of equipment are made in China, so if you are buying a brand one, just be prepared to pay more. For me, a budget but durable ball is more important than brand itself.
